The 3rd annual Well Ray Festival takes place on Saturday, June 24 from 9am to 1pm, showcasing the wide variety of health and wellness opportunities in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria.  The event -- featuring free fitness classes, health demonstrations, and exhibits -- is free and open to all.

     "Del Ray is a one-stop destination to eat, shop, and live healthy lives," said Del Ray Business Association President Dennis Belmont.  "We're excited about this opportunity to showcase the many fitness studios and health & wellness practitioners that have earned our neighborhood the nickname 'Well Ray.'"

     The 3rd annual Well Ray Festival features free fitness demonstrations and classes plus field-day inspired activities at the Bean Creative field (2213 Mount Vernon Avenue); nutrition information and cooking demonstrations at the Del Ray Farmer's Market (located at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenue); plus vendors, exhibitors, wellness presentations and more at the parking lot adjacent to the Farmer's Market (2213 Mount Vernon Avenue) and at the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center (2701 Commonwealth Avenue), including therapeutic massages, acupuncture, physical therapy consultations, chiropractic adjustments, nutritional counseling, blood pressure screenings, meditation, wellness coaching, energy work and more.

    "We are beyond excited for this year's Well Ray Festival," said Well Ray chair Kate Moran. "With the expansion of our event to multiple locations along Mt. Vernon, we cannot wait to highlight the booming wellness businesses in Del Ray and beyond."

     Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats to join in enjoy free yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, Spin, Barre, dance classes led by vendors in and around Del Ray; advanced registration for classes is available at wellraydelray.com.  "Get ready to move at one of our many fitness demos, cool down with a beverage or healthy bites, and plan for the future with a life coach or counselor," said Moran. "With over 40 vendors we have something for everyone!"
