Through the Looking Glass Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery
Del Ray Artisans welcomes the strange, odd, and out of perspective: fish eye lens, mirror images, strange colors, impossible structures, pigs that fly, animals that dance. “Through The Looking Glass” is an ode to the childhood cult classic with a personal twist. Artists bring their personal story of tumbling down the rabbit hole and the journey traveled. Summoned forth are the most elegant and colorful Jabberwockies, chess pieces fighting to the death, and wild toothy grins. An exclusive smattering of unique, awe inspiring artwork, that knocks the socks off mundane, commonplace images.
“Through the Looking Glass” is a collection of art from local artists that captures the beautifully bizarre inner workings of the mind. Together we revisit childhood nightmare-ish fantasies, laced with peculiar characters, and perplexing backgrounds. The exhibit runs March 3-26, 2017.
The exhibit is at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Gallery hours are: Thursdays 12-6pm, Fridays 12-9pm, Saturdays 12-9pm, and Sundays 12-6pm. Thegallery is free, open to the public, and handicap accessible.
