At Home in Alexandria's 6th Anniversary Party

  • May 25, 2017
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • At Home in Alexandria, 200 Cameron Blvd.

Celebrating its 6th Anniversary, At Home in Alexandria (AHA) invites the community to celebrate our local Alexandria "Village" at an event to be held Thursday, May 25 from 2-4pm at the Cameron Club located at 200 Cameron Blvd in Cameron Station, Alexandria. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

At Home in Alexandria provides social, emotional and practical support to older adults to enable them to continue to live in their home and community they love. But don't think our members are sitting in their rocking chairs! The theme of the anniversary party will be "Imagine That!" and will showcase our "artists, creatives, authors and makers" in a display of their artwork and other creative product.

Our featured guest speaker will be Carol Siegel, one of the 2017 recipients of the Annie B Rose Award from the Alexandria Commission on Aging for her volunteer work at the Adult Day Care Center of Lee Center, where she teaches a variety of art forms to older adults through the Arts for the Aging program. Carol's art resume is as long as her volunteer resume and includes training as an expressive artist, and work in painting, photography, collage, and other media. She'll describe her own artistic aesthetic and inspirations, as well as share her experience as both artist and art teacher, and the power of art to provide challenge, beauty, therapy and awaken the spirit throughout life.

Please call or email for more information or to RSVP - 703-231-0824 or aha@athomeinalexandria.org.
