Calling it Old "Town Alexandria’s hip neighbor," U.S. News and World Report named Del Ray one of 10 "Up-and-Coming" Washington, D.C. neighborhoods to buy a home.

"Transplants from Portland, Oregon, looking for a good coffee fix should visit this quaint area in Alexandria," writes U.S. News. "It has the look of neighboring Old Town Alexandria, 'but gives off a much more casual, down-to-earth vibe ... Everybody’s walking dogs, going to yoga class. They all look happy.'”

Earlier this summer, Washingtonian Magazine highlighted Del Ray as one of five "best value" neighborhoods in the Washington region where home values hold steady.  "Though minutes from downtown DC, Del Ray prides itself on its small-town feel and local businesses,"  Washingtonian writes.

"Here is another media report of something we've known for years, Del Ray is a great place to live and work," said Del Ray Business Association President Bill Blackburn.
