During the June First Thursday, Del Ray highlights the wide variety of health, wellness, and healing opportunities in the neighborhood, with the the theme "Health And Healing." The monthly street festival takes place on June 1 from 6pm to dusk along Mount Vernon Avenue. The event is free and open to all.
Free health and wellness classes will take place, plus live music, children's activities, the debut of a new interactive public art project, and more.
This month's featured nonprofit is the Fund For Alexandria's Child, which works to enhance the quality of life of foster children and children at risk of abuse and neglect. Participants are urged to bring Target or grocery gift cards for this worthy cause; donations will be collected at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square (at the intersection of Oxford & Mt. Vernon Ave).
