The Del Ray Business Association Board of Directors issued the following statement to members after the announcement that Amazon HQ2 and Virginia Tech's Center for Innovation would move to National Landing, located in the City of Alexandria and Arlington:

    "As news breaks that Amazon and Virginia Tech will soon become prime members of our community, we want to welcome the potential for growth along the Route 1 corridor.  We recognize there will be mixed emotions regarding this new adventure and want to assure our businesses that we will always have our member’s best interests in mind. Moving forward, we will keep everyone updated as information becomes available."
