Pictured is Keshaun Clark (United Bank) and Jeff Wallingford (Taqueria Poblano) with their Holiday Tree Bow Wow Boughs, the winner of the DRBA Best Decorated Tree Contest.

Keshaun's staff at United Bank worked to obtain photos of neighborhood dogs and created handmade ornaments of them. In additional to the photo ornaments, Taqueria Poblano painted Christmas bulbs with fire hydrants and doghouses.

Enjoy holiday carols during your Saturday shopping on Mt. Vernon Avenue from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. The Choir will stroll the Avenue performing holiday favorites.

The TC Williams High School Choir has had a busy holiday season this year performing throughout the community. Members also will participate in "Christmas in Washington," a musical program to be televised on Friday, Dec. 21.  They are also performing during First Night Alexandria on New Year's Eve.

Under the direction of Theodore Thorpe III, the choir has made its mark in the region over the last two years. In national choir competitions last year, the choir earned Grand Champion honors as the highest scoring ensemble at the OrlandoFest in Orlando, Fla., and won first place in the critically acclaimed iSing competition. Choir members also have been selected to perform in the "Christmas in Washington" national television holiday show for the President and First Family, in the "Kennedy Center Honors" program and with cast members of the television show "Glee." Choir members are frequently asked to sing the
National Anthem at Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) sporting events and community events such as the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria annual gala.

One of the national commercials for Medicare Open Enrollment (from now until December 7) was filmed in Del Ray on September 24, and used shots along Mount Vernon Avenue, including in front of Neighborhood Pharmacy, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, Del Ray Pizzeria. The commercial is currently being aired on broadcast television. We were thrilled to see our Main Street showcased on TV!
